Counterfeit SNB Cashier's Check

SNB is aware of a new counterfeit SNB cashier's check that is in circulation. These cashier's checks are being mailed with notification of Sweepstakes winnings. The phone number listed on the check (888-442-1408) connects with a person claiming to be with Stillwater National Bank and Trust Co. The cashier's check information provided to the representative is verified as "funds available". This information is being reported to the appropriate authorities and the phone number should be disconnected soon.

Recognizing this counterfeit

Here are a few points for identifying this counterfeit.

Counterfeit cashier's checks bearing the name of Stillwater National Bank & Trust Company are in circulation.
Counterfeit items are printed with a telephone number (888-442-1408), which is not associated with Stillwater National Bank. This phone number appears under Stillwater National Bank & Trust Company, Stillwater * Tulsa * Oklahoma City * Chichasha in the top-left corner. Also, Chickasha is misspelled.
Counterfeit items display a Remitter in the lower-left corner of the check as well as "Issued by Stillwater National Bank & Trust Company. A subsidiary of Southwest Bancorp. Member F.D.I.C."
The check is received with a sweepstakes lottery letter requesting to call an agent immediately to expedite the process of winnings.
